Poppy Making in Transition Rooks

Last week the pupils in Transition Rooks were proud to make their own poppies in honour of Remembrance Day.

They listened carefully to facts about this special day and why people wear poppies. They also learned that following the conflicts, poppies were one of the only plants to grow on the barren battlefields. The finished poppies were beautiful, and the children loved wearing them throughout the day.
