Coopersale Hall School came together this Friday to raise awareness for World Mental Health Day, with both children and staff wearing yellow to mark the occasion. Earlier in the week, during an assembly led by Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Doherty, as well as in their PSHE lessons, students learned about the importance of mental health.
Mrs. Doherty also reminded students about the school’s “Listening Ear” program, which provides a safe space for them to talk to an adult about any worries or concerns. She explained how the program works, pointing out the posters displayed around the school and clarifying how students can seek help when needed. The aim is to ensure that every child knows they have support and that someone is there to listen and help make things better.
On Friday, students participated in a variety of activities, including a yellow-themed treasure hunt, learning affirmations, and creating doodles inspired by The Doodle Boy. While the day was filled with fun, it carried the vital message that everyone experiences different emotions, and for those who may be struggling, the school has multiple support systems, like the Listening Ear, in place. The event also emphasized the valuable resources available through the Young Minds charity, which provides practical guidance for both students and parents.
A big thank you to all the pupils and staff who wore yellow in support of this important cause, and to the students and parents for their generous donations.
