Easter Assembly March 2026

The pupils were delighted to gather in the hall for our final assembly of the term, our Easter assembly. Mr Wilson began by asking the pupils to reflect on the different stages of the Easter story. He was impressed by how confidently they were able to recount the journey of Jesus, from Palm Sunday and the Last Supper to Good Friday and Easter Sunday, clearly demonstrating their understanding of the significance of each key moment.

Building on the knowledge the pupils displayed, Mr Wilson then posed a series of questions to everyone. These included: Were hot cross buns once considered a form of medicine? Was Easter ever banned? Has the tradition of decorating Easter eggs been around for 2,500 years? He invited pupils to decide whether these statements were true or fake news. The questions sparked lively discussion, and everyone enjoyed sharing their views with a thumbs up or down.

The winners of the Easter baskets were then drawn from the bucket, and their good fortune was warmly applauded by all. Mr Wilson also announced the pupils who had received certificates for their hard work, as well as those recognised for their excellent attendance this term. In addition, he was pleased to present the prestigious Head Teacher’s Award.

As the assembly drew to a close, Mr Wilson thanked FOCHS for their generous donation of Easter baskets, which the winners would greatly enjoy. He concluded by wishing everyone a happy, safe, and enjoyable Easter break.
