Lower Kindergarten Litter Picking for Vaisakhi

Pic1This week the children in Lower Kindergarten have looked at the celebration Vaisakhi. Vaisakhi  is a festival celebrated by the people who follow the Sikh religion. The festival is celebrated on the 13th or 14th of April, where the Sikh people wear beautiful bright clothes and attend a special service at the Gurdwara. This is where the Sikh people go to worship God.

One of the core beliefs of Sikhism is the selfless service (Seva). To try and create a selfless act for the children to take part in, the children went litter picking. This was around the school grounds, to help create a clean environment for those around us. The children really enjoyed taking part in this activity.
