Year 2 Understand the Concept of Settings
At the start of their new term, Year 2 pupils are learning about Africa, exploring the topic through a range of activities.
They will study African art, focusing on an artist and the meaning of different symbols and colours. They will also enjoy a new class book to spark their imagination and transport them to Africa.
To begin thinking about different environments and how they compare with their own, pupils explored the setting of our school. Armed with clipboards, they answered ten questions that drew their attention to features of their surroundings, including types of trees, leaf colours, animals and insects, blooming flowers, and the weather.
Mrs Hogarth and Mrs Zylstra were delighted with the pupils’ enthusiasm and the enjoyment they showed while investigating the school environment.
