Year 3 Epping Forest Trip

Our Year 3 pupils dived into an action-packed adventure focused on teamwork and survival. The journey began with navigation, where students mastered the fundamentals of compass reading. Putting their new skills to the test, they worked in small groups to tackle a forest scavenger hunt, decoding hidden clues and navigating the woodland terrain together.

The afternoon focused on engineering and collaboration with a shelter-building workshop. Tasked with creating a structure using only natural materials, the children demonstrated impressive ingenuity. From selecting the sturdiest branches to layering moss and leaves for insulation, the level of teamwork was exceptional. There was a palpable sense of pride as each group presented their finished den.

The trip was a wonderful blend of practical problem-solving and outdoor fun. We are incredibly proud of how the children represented the school; their enthusiasm and supportive attitude toward one another made for a truly memorable day.
