Seniors Tea Party
To celebrate the skills they have developed and the delicious treats they have created over the past two terms, pupils from both the Junior Cookery Club and Senior Cookery Club invited a family member, and held their own special afternoon tea at School.
The event was a wonderful showcase of the pupils’ growing confidence and culinary abilities. Guests enjoyed an impressive selection of homemade delights, including lemon curd and jam made entirely by the pupils themselves. On the day of the tea party, the children also baked fresh rolls, scones and jam tarts, filling the room with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked goods.
What made the occasion even more special was that every item served had been practised during previous cookery sessions. Maria was delighted to see how confidently the pupils recalled the skills, techniques and processes they had learned throughout the year, applying them independently to prepare and present such a successful event. Their enthusiasm, attention to detail and pride in their work were evident in every aspect.
Maria was particularly pleased with the way the pupils worked together as a team. They demonstrated an excellent understanding of the hygiene and food safety requirements necessary for a successful cooking environment, ensuring that all tasks were carried out safely and efficiently. The tea party not only highlighted the pupils’ culinary achievements but also reinforced valuable life skills such as teamwork, organisation, responsibility and confidence.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon for everyone involved, and a wonderful opportunity for the pupils to share their achievements with family members while celebrating all that they have learned in Cookery Club this year.
