Intro to Music Show and Tell

On Friday we invited the families of children who have “Introduction to Music Lessons” with Mrs Symonds into the hall for a musical “Show and Tell”.  Intro to music lessons are shorter, shared lessons where children explore all aspects of music such as rhythm, pitch and tempo. They’re given the opportunity to try out lots of different instruments such as the recorder, violin, bells and other percussion. Children are taught beginner piano technique and learn simple pieces on the piano and, where appropriate, are introduced to notation. These lessons are ideal for children in Early Years and Year 1 who are perhaps not ready for a full 30 minute 1-to-1 music lesson.

Friday’s Show and Tell was a great occasion, the children were very excited to show their families the pieces they have been learning and the audience was very impressed at how much progress the children have made over the year. Mrs Symonds was very proud of all the performers and we can’t wait to see how they progress next year.
