Year 4 Trip to Mountfitchet Castle

MC 1As part of our Year 4 topic, Crime and Punishment, the children enjoyed an exciting and educational visit to Mountfitchet Castle. Stepping back in time to the Norman period, pupils explored the reconstructed castle and village, discovering what life was like nearly 1,000 years ago.

They learned about the laws, rules and punishments that existed during medieval times and compared them with those we have today. The visit brought our classroom learning to life, helping the children develop a deeper understanding of how crime and punishment have changed throughout history. We all decided that we were glad that those punishments are not still used today!

The pupils were engaged, inquisitive and a credit to the school throughout the day.
