'Imagine if...' Welcome Back Assembly September 2026

Mr Wilson was delighted to welcome all the pupils back to school today and hoped that they had enjoyed their summer break.

He began his assembly by showing the pupils a timeline charting the evolution of the human race. He explained how, in the early stages of human development, people made up only a tiny percentage of the world’s population and had to be constantly aware of the many predators around them. Through evolution, cooperation, and our ability to work together, humans have become the dominant force on the planet.

Mr Wilson explained that this progress has been made possible by people working together, learning from one another, and appreciating the different roles that each person plays within society. He encouraged the pupils to consider how, as they learn and develop, they are building the foundations for the different communities and roles that they will become part of in the future.

The pupils understood and appreciated the importance of respecting and following the rules that are in place at school. These rules help to keep everyone safe, ensure that everyone feels respected, and allow our school community to work together successfully.

Mr Wilson concluded by encouraging the pupils to work together to make this a fantastic year. He looked forward to seeing them enjoy many new and wonderful experiences, while developing their independence, confidence, and the skills they will need as they continue to learn and grow.
