Whole School Assembly - Year 6 Leadership

During our whole-school assembly, the pupils quietly awaited Mr Wilson’s arrival. Without saying a word, he touched both elbows, and the pupils copied him. He continued with several movements before asking why they had followed his actions without being told.

The pupils explained that, as Head, they understood he wanted them to copy him and that following his actions showed they were paying attention.

Mr Wilson used this to explain that being a leader can be rewarding but also challenging, and that good leadership is important in every aspect of school life. He reminded everyone that we work as a team, learning from, respecting and valuing one another.

Year 6 then joined Mr Wilson on stage. As the oldest pupils in the school, they are role models whom others will look to and follow. Throughout the year, they will represent the school in the wider community and take on important roles in school activities and events.

The Year 6 pupils were delighted to receive their badges, recognising their individual roles and responsibilities. They were warmly applauded by the school and proudly accepted their responsibility as role models for the year ahead.
