Purple Tray Friday Award

Vikki and her team have introduced the “Purple Tray Friday” award for pupils in the Early Years and Key Stage 1.

As they see all the pupils across the school each day, Vikki and her team are ideally placed to recognise children who demonstrate excellent manners when asking for their food, show a willingness to try new foods, and make healthy, well-balanced choices.

Each Friday, four pupils from each year group are selected to receive a certificate celebrating these positive choices and behaviours. As an extra special treat, the award recipients enjoy their meal on a purple tray.

The children have embraced this new initiative with great enthusiasm, although Vikki and her team have the unenviable task of choosing just four pupils from each year group each week!
