Year 7 & 8 British Museum History Trip
On Monday, pupils from Years 7 and 8, alongside our Year 11 GCSE History pupils, enjoyed a memorable visit to the British Museum in London. The highlight of the day was exploring the Bayeux Tapestry exhibition, where pupils were able to engage with one of the most significant historical sources linked to the Norman Conquest and deepen their understanding of the period studied in lessons.
In addition to the exhibition, pupils had the opportunity to visit several of the museum's world-famous galleries, including the fascinating Egyptian mummies and the treasures of Sutton Hoo. These exhibits offered a wonderful insight into different periods of history and sparked plenty of discussion and curiosity throughout the day.
The trip was a fantastic opportunity to bring history to life beyond the classroom, and it was a lovely day enjoyed by all. Our pupils were a credit to the school, demonstrating enthusiasm, curiosity and excellent behaviour throughout the visit.
