Year 1 Landscapes

Year 1 have been developing their artistic skills across a range of areas. The pupils explored the difference between a setting sun in warm and cold climates, recreating the wonderful colours they might see in the sky in each. They then created striking silhouettes of animals, using chalk pastels, representing those that could be found in these environments. The pupils also began to consider perspective in their artwork, recognising that objects closer to them appear larger, while those further away appear smaller. They were delighted to create their own pictures, incorporating the elements of their choice.
