Reception Assembly - What the Ladybird Heard

The pupils in Reception were delighted to host their assembly for their families and siblings. They shared the story of What the Ladybird Heard through songs and actions, learning about the animals the ladybird saw and what the ladybird heard.

She saw two men in a big black van, with a map and a key and a cunning plan. She heard them whisper about how they were going to steal the fine prize cow!

The little spotty ladybird, who had never said a word before, told the animals how the two thieves were planning to steal the cow. The farm animals said, “We can’t let them steal the fine prize cow!” But the ladybird had a good idea and whispered it into each of the animals’ ears.

The pupils sang and acted wonderfully throughout the tale, and everyone applauded as they helped to foil the thieves’ plan to steal the fine prize cow.
