Year 8 History - The dissolution of Monasteries
As part of their History studies, Year 8 have been investigating the Dissolution of the Monasteries, while also exploring the life and key decisions of Henry VIII. The class examined how Henry’s actions shaped relationships, power, religion, and money during his reign, and considered the wider impact these decisions had on society at the time.
To deepen their understanding, the pupils took part in a group work activity, where they collaborated to analyse and debate the effectiveness of Henry VIII’s decisions. Each group was tasked with ranking these decisions in order of significance, which sparked some lively discussions as students justified their reasoning and challenged one another’s views.
