Harvest Festival
Our Harvest Assembly was a wonderful celebration of gratitude, community, and giving. Harvest time reminds us to be thankful for the food we have, to recognise the hard work of farmers, and to support those in need.
Mr Wilson and Mrs Hogarth were delighted to welcome Reverend Sarah Moss from All Saints Theydon Garnon Church and Amy from the Epping Forest Food Bank, who spoke to the children about how their generous donations will help local families. These donations will be delivered by Mrs Hogarth, accompanied by Reeva Wiley (Head of School Council), Maggie Bellis (Head of Eco Council), and Agastya Chhatre (Head of Wellbeing).
The assembly also featured the first public speeches from our Head Girl, Felicity, and Head Boy, Carter, who spoke confidently and with pride. Pupils from across all key stages sang cheerful harvest songs, celebrating the abundance of the earth and showing appreciation for those who help provide our food.
Coopersale Hall would like to thank all our families for their generous contributions to the Epping Forest Food Bank. It was a truly heart-warming assembly that encouraged reflection, gratitude, and community spirit.
On the Wednesday after Harvest Festival, Reeva the Head of School Council, Maggie the Head of Eco Council and Agastya, Head of Wellbeing, accompanied Mrs Hogarth the RE Subject Coordinator to the Epping Forest Foodbank to deliver the generous harvest donations that our school collected.
They worked up a sweat loading the donations in to the minibus, which were gratefully received by the staff. The children were surprised at the size of the foodbank “We thought it would be as big as Tesco!” The Foodbank fed more than 8000 families in Epping Forest last year, but unfortunately they are currently very low on donations and thanked us for our efforts. The school council are now thinking of ways we can support the Foodbank throughout the year. Well done Coopersale Hall!
