ADHD Awareness Assembly
Mrs Moon was delighted to host our whole-school assembly and began by congratulating Daniel in 1K for receiving a “Certificate of Creativity” for an outstanding piece of artwork that has been selected for publication in the Young Writers’ Incredible Inventions national drawing competition.
As part of our SEND Awareness initiative at Coopersale Hall School, Mrs Moon introduced senior students who were happy to share their experiences of living with ADHD. She also began this segment by sharing her own experiences of raising a child with ADHD and Autism. Mrs Moon highlighted the importance of nurturing all types of learners and discussed how we can support our friends and family members who may have additional needs. She explained that ADHD can affect children and adults in different ways, and that receiving the right support from both home and school can help a child to thrive.
This was a thoughtful and inspiring way to begin our week, celebrating our differences and learning to understand and embrace them.
