Key Stage Assemblies
On Friday, pupils gathered in their key stages for their assemblies. The pupils on the School Council had taken time to consider which charities they wished to propose as the designated charity for the coming year.
Mrs Stanley hosted the KS1 assembly in the hall, where she was very proud of how well the School Council pupils delivered their speeches about the charities they had chosen. The pupils also took a moment to celebrate Buddy in 2H, who received his Man of the Match trophy, everyone was delighted to applaud him.
Mrs Bull hosted the KS2 assembly in the studio. Before the School Council began their speeches, Oscar in 3G shared that he had received a trophy for “Best Beaver of the Year.” Everyone was pleased to hear how much Oscar enjoyed being a Beaver and how happy the award had made him, and he received a loud round of applause. The School Councilor’s then took their turn to deliver their speeches, each proposing a charity that held special meaning for them. Everyone listened carefully and considered the points raised.
In both assemblies, after all the speeches had been given, pupils were given a moment of reflection to consider the charities that had been presented. They then cast their vote by placing a slip of paper into a cup representing the charity they wished to support.
All votes will be counted, and the charity receiving the most votes in each assembly will be announced in our forthcoming whole-school assembly. These two charities will become our designated charities for this academic year.
