Year 2 learn about Christopher Columbus

Year 2 have been learning about Christopher Columbus as part of their ‘Famous People’ History topic. In Art, they recreated a painting of his ship, the Niña, using oil pastels. They took great care to blend colours smoothly, add detailed textures to the sails and ocean, and carefully follow the shapes and proportions of the original artwork. Their finished pieces show real attention to detail and a growing confidence in using oil pastels to create rich, vibrant effects.
