Year 5 and Year 6 took part in a fantastic Food Workshop led by Chartwells, helping them understand how healthy food choices support growth, concentration, and overall wellbeing.
The workshop began with a video, followed by discussions about different food groups and the benefits each one provides. Pupils then worked in teams to make their own chocolate hummus—mixing and blending ingredients before enjoying a taste of their creation. They also discussed how they might improve the flavour and texture.
The session explored how to achieve the “5 a Day” goal by eating a variety of fruits and vegetables. The children learned about the importance of “eating a rainbow” and the unique benefits of colourful foods.
To finish, pupils created their own rainbow wraps—and had fun eating them too!
A big thank you to Chartwells for their engaging and informative session, helping our children make healthy choices for a stronger, happier future.
