Junior & Senior First Aid Training

This was a fantastic opportunity for students to learn essential life skills and build the confidence to act in emergency situations. As Danny, our instructor, explained:

“You may not be the one to give first aid to someone in need, but many adults haven’t had this training. You might be the person who gives them the confidence to take action. When giving CPR, it’s important to continue until the ambulance arrives.”

Edward in Year 5 has written his thoughts on this training:

Recently, Year 5 had the opportunity to learn basic first aid. A helpful way to remember the steps is DR ABC, which stands for Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing, and CPR.

To help us understand CPR, Danny demonstrated the technique using training dummies. He taught us how the amount of pressure needed changes depending on a person’s size. We also had the chance to use training defibrillators on the dummies, giving us a realistic and hands-on experience.

After just one hour, we came away with practical and valuable first aid knowledge that we can build on in the future.
