Trip to Epping Forest Museum

Year 4 visited the wonderful, newly refurbished Epping Forest District Museum in Waltham Abbey on 15th September. The children explored the galleries and enjoyed learning about local history. They were able to handle artefacts from the Stone Age, using their observational skills to identify what the objects were.

An enjoyable part of the trip was, of course, the visit to the shop.

Here are some of the comment the children made about their visit.

“I really enjoyed seeing the red deer’s antler”.

“It was very enjoyable being at the museum and to feel real Stone Age things. Thank you Kathrine Hammond”.

“I really enjoyed holding the flint because it made me feel from the Stone Age”.

“I liked where we could watch the things. My favourite was touching the deer antler”.
