Football Frenzy

Years 3/4 ‘A’ Team  Vs  Years 5/6 ‘B’ Team

On Wednesday 19 October an epic football match took place between the Coopersale Hall Years 3/4 ‘A’ team and the Coopersale Hall Years 5/6 ‘B’ Team.  In an evenly contested first half that saw chances created at both ends, it was a fine cross from Harry that allowed Charlie to skilfully guide the ball into the net.  At half time Years 3/4 were 1 – 0 up.

The second half got underway with some clever attacks from Years 5/6 which resulted in a fine through ball from Kian which found Jack in enough space to turn and run in on goal and score.  At  1 – 1 the game was evenly poised,  it is fair to say that Years 3/4 wanted to score a goal and regularly committed most of their team forward.  However a great corner resulted in an own goal as the ball struck a Year 3/4 player and went in.  At 2 – 1 down Year 3/4 mounted a charge forward looking for the equaliser in the last seconds of the match.  An excellent cross was deflected into the Year 5/6 goal by Ben. There was just time to kick off before the final whistle went.  A  2 – 2 draw was a fair result for both sides.

Mr Robinson would like to thank all of the players for sharing such determination and skill.  Thank you to all of the spectators who turned up to cheer on the teams.
