This term the Oak-Tree Group of Schools have partnered with a charity project called ‘WE Schools’ to raise global awareness and encourage our children to make an impact in our local and global communities. Children from Coopersale Hall were selected to join the programme and represent the school.
On the 19 January the children were invited to attend a workshop morning at Normanhurst School, and were also joined by children from Oaklands. The ‘WE project’ was introduced to all children and the heart behind this wonderful charity project was shared. The children were challenge to think about the everyday issues that the charity support such as poverty, pollution, animal cruelty, littering and many more. All children involved had to think ‘outside the box’ on how they can make a difference in our local and global communities fighting these social issues.
‘WE Schools is a year long programme that nurtures compassion in young people and gives them the tools to create transformational social change. Together they offer young people the tools and the inspiration to take social action, empower others and transform lives—including their own.’
We look forward to see in which charity work the children will be involved with during the rest of the year!
