On Sunday 21 January two members of Coopersale Hall’s swimming team, Arwen and Oliver, represented the London North Area Team at the I.S.A. National Swimming Gala at the London Aquatics Centre, Stratford.
Both swimmers should be very proud or their achievements. Arwen swam in the Year 6 Girls 50m Backstroke and narrowly missed out on a medal by fractions of a second. She then swam the opening leg of the 200m Girls Year 6 Medley performing brilliantly and actually handed over in first place, unfortunately the team went on to finish just outside the medal positions.
Finally it was time for the Freestyle Relay races. Oliver went third for the Year 5 Boys and swam an excellent leg, once again the team finished just outside the medal positions. The last race was the Girls 200m Freestyle Relay. Arwen swam the anchor leg going last, amazingly the girls finished in silver medal position.
Mr Robinson would like to thank both of our swimmers for representing our school and the London North Area as well. Also a big thank you to the parents who spent all afternoon cheering on the swimmers.
