Year 4 Trip to the Epping Forest District Museum

Year 4 visited Epping Forest District Museum to learn about the Stone Age. We had an excellent workshop where we learned a lot about chronology, discussing events in prehistory and discovering when each Stone Age period took place.

We handled various artefacts including a real woolly mammoth’s tooth! We discussed what each object felt like and made a guess at what they might have been used for. It was fascinating to handle objects that are thousands of years old and we had to make sure we took great care.

We enjoyed the walk through the Abbey Gardens and observed lots of old buildings and remains as we made our way to the museum. The beautiful weather really helped to make it a lovely morning out of school.
