Children from Year 1 and Year 2 have been enjoying exploring the wonderful woodlands within the school grounds during their weekly ‘Wellies and Woodlands’ club. They have had fun taking part in a variety of activities and challenges including looking at different types of trees and studying the shapes and textures of the leaves in order to identify and name them. While looking at the variety of trees, they chose a special tree within the grounds to watch and observe during the Autumn Term and to detect its many changing features including colour, fruits and leaves.
The children have also enjoyed activities including leaf rubbing, sorting and grouping leaves, nature hunts and understanding natural and man-made materials within their environment.
