Year 1 Daly have been learning about ‘Houses and Homes’ this term for their topic.
This week they learnt about animal habitats and went exploring the lovely school grounds for natural materials to use to make a hedgehog hibernation nest. The children made their own hedgehog from clay, and incorporated some maths work by measuring the hedgehog prickles carefully. They watched several videos of animals in their natural habitats, and learnt about the different names for animal homes. This has inspired the children to keep a look out for wildlife in their local area over half term. We are so lucky to have Epping Forest right on our doorstep as this is the perfect place to observe many animals!
Well done Year 1!
