Year 4 Pupils Got Hands-on Learning About Rivers And Waterfalls Yesterday!

The children in Year 4 continued their learning about rivers by trying to make a waterfall. They used guttering to act as a river bed then placed twigs, rocks, sand and other debris onto the channel. The children then poured water down the guttering to replicate how sediment is carried along the river bed by a current. They then altered the gradient of the slope to see how this changed the movement of the sediment and the flow of the waterfall.
