Haileybury have asked children to embrace the work of one of Britain’s greatest storytellers, William Shakespeare and create work inspired by him, which they will showcase on their virtual gallery. The virtual gallery will be available to view from Friday 18th June, 2021. They will announce the winners of their competition on Friday 25th June, 2021.
Year 6 have taken up this challenge and found that the work of the Bard provided them with a wealth of inspiration. They were able to look at the different characters that were in his plays, the words from his sonnets and also they looked at other artists to allow them to produce a modern piece in the style of these artists, such as Andy Warhol and Vincent Van Gogh.
Only 8 pieces from each school could be entered, which considering the budding artists that we have within the class, made this a difficult task indeed!
