In maths Reception have been looking at finding missing numbers and working on using the mathematical language; before, next, after, 1 more and 1 less. The children have enjoyed using the large number cards to put the numbers in order and find what number is missing. They worked as a whole class with this activity, then worked in smaller groups on the tables to try and find the missing numbers and then put all of the numbers into the correct order.
In phonics the children have been working hard in their groups and have been focusing on the correct letter formation, making words with magnetic letters and finding words in the classroom to read.
We have linked our art with our topic ‘People who help us’. The children have enjoyed painting different people who help us. For example a doctor, vet, postal worker, vet etc.
