Year 4 Get To See A Quentin Blake Original!

Some pupils from year 4 where talking about their love of Roald Dhal books in the school playground when Mrs Radcliff overheard them, she proceeded to tell the children the story of when her husband, a black cab driver, had once driven Quentin all the way to Hastings! The men had a lovely journey together chatting all the way to the coast and as Quentin was leaving the cab he quickly drew a small cartoon for Mrs Radcliff’s husband to recall their journey. The drawing was of a seagull eating a fish and a little note of thanks.

This drawing is now a treasured possession in the Radcliff house!

The children were lucky enough to see the drawing for themselves and loved hearing the story of how it came to be.
