Karate Club Impress The School With Their Incredible Skills

It was wonderful to have Sensei Dan’s Karate Club demonstrate their skills to the whole school this morning, Monday 6th June.  Everyone was impressed by the number of children that take part in the club and were interested to learn more about Karate, which means “Open Hand”.

The club showed us how they warm up their bodies before starting to demonstrate how they move when they punch and kick. The children and audience listened very carefully to Sensei Dan following his instructions and directions to perform the Karate moves with skill and speed.

Everyone in the club looked wonderful in their “Gi” the white Karate kit that they wear.  The different coloured belts determined the different level of knowledge and skill that they have achieved so far.

The assembly was very inspiring and everyone enjoyed watching a few members of the club playing the block, duck and jump game!   Amelia in Year 3 was chosen from the audience to see her reaction to the speed and agility that the game needs.

Sensei wowed the school with the trophy and medal that he achieved becoming the first Englishman to be World champion and European champion at the same time.

Thank you Sensei Dan for sharing your passion and knowledge with everyone.
