The Year 1 Science topic this term is called ‘On Safari’. Pupils have been studying vertebrates and invertebrates, looking at their characteristics and grouping and classifying different creatures. They have also been looking at animal habitats and exploring what they need to survive.
Pupils thoroughly enjoyed exploring in and around the school pond, finding newts, pond snails, water louse and more. They got a close up look at the creatures in the buckets before carefully releasing them back to where they found them.
