Abigail’s Amazing Summer Golf Adventure

Abigail in Year 5 kindly shared her sporting achievements from over the summer. She attended a Golf Summer Camp in Ash Valley in England which provided the opportunity for children to enjoy and learn the skills of golf.

In this week’s assembly, Abigail shared her experience of the camp with the rest of the school. She explained that at the start of the week she found herself in a group of 3 girls who were taller and older than her.  She initially felt very overwhelmed by the size of the course but was supported by a girl within her group who kindly made her feel better as the day went on.

She competed in the US Kids Golf Tour event and won a trophy and two medals.  She won the medals for coming in second place and the trophy for coming joint third for the whole season in the US Kids North London Girls 9-10. These are huge achievements and the whole school is very proud of her dedication to the sport.

The aim for Abigail is to improve her score next year to 45 or less. This which will enable her to compete for the first-place trophy at the World Championships next year, held in Pinehurst in America. The task will be very hard – but she is up for the challenge!
