Year 1 enjoyed a WOW day to end their Toys topic this week. The children wrote invitations to invite their Teddy bears to come to school, then followed instructions to make sandwiches and cakes for a Teddy bear’s picnic. They made a traditional cup and ball game from simple materials and played with old fashioned toys such as dominoes, jacks and shut the box, as well as toys from around the world like Russian dolls. Finally, they enjoyed the afternoon sunshine, playing hopscotch, noughts and crosses and of course the age old favourite, a game of tag!
A huge thank you to Mrs Futter and Emily for teaching all the children how to play Jacks. They had a wonderful day!
