Year One had a fantastic treat with a visit from Mr Taylor, Max’s grandad. The children have started a new topic learning all about maps. He told the children about his recent trip to Antarctica and shared the journey he had to take to get there, which had taken many days!
Mr Taylor shared lots of wonderful photographs which the children of all the different animals he had seen, including polar bears, many different types of penguins and even whales! The children asked lots of thoughtful questions- even finding out whether penguins have ears! Mr Taylor provided the children with maps of his travels and even gave each child a photograph to keep.
We are so grateful to have so many interesting visitors to be able to invite in to school to share their knowledge. Thank you to Mr Taylor!
