Celebration Assembly

The wet weather last week didn’t dampen the spirits of our pupils as everyone gathered together in the hall to celebrate each other’s achievements.  Miss Crick was delighted to remind everyone that it had been International Women’s Day and read  “Girls Can Do Anything” to the children – everyone listened beautifully.

Mr Barham was welcomed to the front of the assembly where he presented the Year 6 rugby team with certificates for the recent tag rugby tournament.  He took this opportunity of letting the whole school know that if they wanted to try this game – then to come along to the Thursday after-school club and have a go. Everyone is welcome as all teams are made up of girls and boys!

Everyone clapped their hands to thank Emily and James for their kind gifts of toys that they had donated to the school – among which was “Dinosaur Bingo” that the younger children were looking forward to playing!

Those who had been awarded with the merit, science and bucket filler certificates received a round of applause and  we were delighted to learn that Miss Barnard had been nominated as a Bucket Filler too!

Oak House were the proud recipients of the House Cup this week – well done!  The 2nd placed house was only 46 points behind…so keep striving to earn those house-points.. it could by your house next week!
