The KS2 Choir Show What They Can Do At The ISA A Capella Competition

On Friday 10th March the KS2 choir travelled to Leighton Park school for the ISA A Capella competition.  After a long journey and a quick warm up, there was no time for nerves as they were on stage and performing.  The choir sang “Love Shine Alight” and did a fantastic job, with great percussion, air guitars, solos and harmonies.  They performed with joy and enthusiasm and got a rousing round of applause.

After their performance, they settled down to watch the other schools perform and were very impressed with the fantastic standard and the entertaining performances.  Everyone agreed that one of their favourite performances was a sixth form group performing “Ghostbusters”.

The results were announced after lunch, and, although Coopersale Hall didn’t win, the children did agree with the judge’s decision as they had all really enjoyed the winning performance.  Once the results were out of the way the pupils took part in a workshop, run by the judge, Christopher Hann, who is a conductor, vocal animateur, singer and teacher.  He quickly taught everyone a song and had everyone singing in parts, with movements and harmonies, it was a fantastic way to end the day!

It was a very inspiring experience for the Coopersale Hall Choir and the children are already planning what they will be doing for next years performance.

KS2 choir meets on Thursday mornings in the studio at 8.15am and all are welcome to join.
