Year 1 Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside

This half term year 1 have been creating a beach scene as part of their art topic. They have been using a variety of techniques to add texture and depth to the artwork. For the base they mixed sand in with the paint to have a sandy beach, they then used cotton wool to dab on the sky, and used sponges to create a smooth wavy effect on the ocean. Pupils then layered different beach items onto the picture using card, sticks, wool, paper, felt and stones to add interest and variation to their own individual pictures. They have produced some wonderful pieces, which they should all be very proud of.
