The children in Year 1 have been learning about the importance of Shabbat to Jewish children. They really enjoyed re-enacting Shabbat in their RE lesson, preparing the classroom with tablecloths and candles, just as Jewish families do in their homes every Friday. Jacob said a prayer over the Challah bread before everyone tried a piece as well as tasting grape juice which they thought was delicious. They finished by writing their own special prayers.
