This morning, Year 4 presented a Christingle assembly to the school. They started with a joyous song: ‘Sing Christingle,’ before sharing information about the history of the Christingle. Did you know that the first Christingle service was in 1968? It originally raised money for the Children’s Society Charity.
The Christingles were carefully lit before the children said the school’s prayer. There was a moment of reflection as the candles burned brightly.
“I think it was really special when the lights in the hall went off and the candles were burning brightly,” said Margaux.
The children are looking forward to taking their Christingles home to show their families (and maybe eating a sweetie or two)
