The children gathered in the hall to commence the week with our celebration assembly which was full of many wonderful achievements.
Mrs Graves was delighted to announce the winners of the recent Historical Fiction Competition. Obi in 7R was the overall winner. Poppy, Abigail, Defne (Year 6), Olivia, Lily (Year 4) were all presented with their runners up prizes and certificates. Special mention was also given to Sophie (2H) and Yasmin (1C) for their amazing efforts and received house points for their stories. A folder containing all their stories has been compiled in the library for everyone to read and enjoy.
Over her birthday weekend, Aryia in 2H took part in a Street Dance competition where she was given the trophy for being the winner of the solo dancers. She also performed in the group event where her dance troupe received a medal for coming 2nd overall.
Sony in RM took part in the Spartan Race which was a 2 km ran which contained 30 different obstacles, including walking in mud, climbing over a lot of walls and carrying a bag of sand. He was thrilled to share his medal.
Emelia (5H) shared her Level 6 Swimming Certificate, where she had to gain 100% skills in all the different swimming strokes and swam one length of the pool. Freddy (4B) was delighted to receive his pen licence.
We also celebrated the children who gained a Merit Certificate and were voted the Star of the Week by their classmates. Our assembly drew to a close with Mrs Doherty wished everyone a wonderful week ahead.
