Year 5 Danbury Residential

Our Year 5 Residential

Here are the thoughts that the children expressed regarding their residential trip to Danbury, Essex Outdoors, from the 15th to the 17th of May, 2024.

Maria: Our fun activities, despite the cold weather, included aerial trekking, zip lining, problem-solving (not maths!), orienteering, an obstacle course, bushcraft, and rock climbing. Personally, I enjoyed rock climbing and aerial trekking the most. The beds were very comfy in my opinion, and the best part was that we were allowed to have snacks, which everyone remembered to eat! Anyone going is very lucky to experience all the fun with their classmates.

Henry C: On Wednesday last week, our Year 5 class went to Danbury for two nights and three days. When we arrived, we went straight to our rooms to set up our clothes and beds. Then we had about an hour to relax and play before starting our first activity, zip lining, which was super fun. On the last day, we did bushcraft. It was hilarious because we couldn’t light the fire. Overall, it was a great trip and unforgettable.

Ayla: Last week, all of Year 5 went on a residential trip to Danbury. It was an amazing experience. The zip lining was our first activity, and it was really fun. The residential was unforgettable. The activities were very challenging, and going to Danbury was a real highlight of the year.

Mrs. Howard was very proud of the resilience and courage that the children displayed and how polite they were to everyone at the Danbury facility.
