At Coopersale Hall, we strive to encourage children to build strong relationships and bonds across all classes and age groups. We believe this is a valuable cornerstone of their learning, fostering a happy and supportive environment in which they can flourish.
Our House Assemblies provide an opportunity for children from different year groups to come together, form new friendships, and strengthen existing bonds. By working as a team, they support and encourage one another to do their best in all aspects of school life, earning house points along the way. These gatherings also allow Year 6 Prefects to share upcoming events with their Houses, giving students a voice to express their thoughts and ideas on exciting activities that everyone would enjoy. Additionally, they reflect on past events that were particularly successful and discuss ways to build upon them.
This term, the structure of these meetings will involve two Houses holding their assemblies while children from the other two Houses participate in a “reading buddy” session with younger pupils. This approach ensures that bonds are continuously strengthened, allowing children to focus on listening to one another, sharing stories, and fostering a warm and supportive atmosphere.
During these House Assemblies, the children also watch a video demonstrating how a single act of kindness can create a ripple effect, touching many lives and situations. They were deeply moved by the idea that even the smallest act of kindness can have a powerful and lasting impact.
