U11 Girls Independent Schools National Football Cup Finals Day

On Tuesday 26 June, Coopersale Hall School represented the I.S.A. Schools at the I.S.F.A. U11 Girls football finals day.

Thankfully, on what was another very hot day, the finals were played inside at St. Georges Park, Burton-Upon-Trent.  The girls were obviously inspired by the amazing facilities and got off to the best possible start winning their first game 1-0 against A.K.S. Lytham School.  The standard of the opposition teams was excellent.  We lost our next fame 0-1 to St. Aubyn’s School.  Then a hard fought draw against Blackhealth Prep and an amazing 1-0 win against Ardingly School.  A draw in our last group game against Malvern St. James saw us win our group and go through to the semi-finals against Southbank Kensington School.

In the semi-final both schools had chances in an excellent match unfortunately, we lost 1-0.  The girls played to the very best of their ability and should all be extremely proud of themselves.  This has been the first year of U11 Girls football at Coopersale Hall and this years’ team has set a wonderful example and high standard for all the other girls to follow.

Thank you to all of the girls for working so hard in practise and for playing so well.  Thank you especially to Ruby, her skill and determination was excellent in every game she played.

Thank you finally to all the parents who supplied incredible support throughout the year.
