Girls’ Football Tournament at Shooters – Year 3 & 4

We were delighted to take part in a Girls’ Football Tournament held in North Weald.

There were 14 teams playing games of 6 minutes each.  The games were fast and everyone played with enthusiasm.  The girls on the team reflected on this experience:

Ava – Year 3 – “I enjoy playing football.  It is a happy thing to do, and it does mean that we get to know each other really well.”

Verity – Year 3 – “I loved it!  The matches were good and it was nice to get to know all the girls from the different classes. It was also lovely to have my mum and grandfather coming to support the team, they were really very encouraging to all the players.”

Our final match of the tournament gave our team our final position on the leaderboard. It was against Braeside – so it was a real Oak-Tree derby. The final score was 1 – 1 making both Coopersale Hall and Braeside joint 7th overall.

Thank you to Mr Barham for taking the girls to this tournament; they thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done to the girls from all the schools for their sporting behaviour. It was great to see so many smiling faces.
